Moon

Lost star, dark night
Neither the night nor the star were
Lonely or dark any longer

Sunday, 25 January 2015

The eyes whispered

Untold stories
Unsaid feelings
Unexpressed emotions
Unspoken words

The lost mind
The longing heart
The trembling lips
The silent voice

A desire to meet
A wish to see
An urge to say
A need to listen

Eyes met
Eyes saw
Eyes spoke
Eyes heard

Lost words
Sheer silence
Missed chance
Wasted opportunity

The farewell
The fading figure
The melting moment
The aching heart

Still a tiny hope
The eyes whispered
The eyes were heard
Through a mist of tears

So alone and so faraway

A warm and breezy night
Thousands of miles away
Several decades ago
I lay on my bed and looked at the sky

I could see the full moon
So big and beautiful
So near, I could nearly touch it
Surrounded by countless stars

The star laden sky bent down
Moonlight gently kissed my forehead
I smiled at the moon
It smiled back with delight

My eyelids heavy with sleep
I slept peacefully in the soft moonlight
With the moon watching over me

From the warmth of my bedroom
I looked through the double glazed window

I could see the full moon
Tangled in leafless branches of a solitary tree
The moon was so desolate
So far away

Lonely in a starless sky
So alone and so faraway
